Myriam Lessard

Featured Master Applicant

We are delighted to reveal Myriam Lessard as a featured master applicant of the North American Circus Competition.

I started attending the Ecole de cirque de Quebec while very young. I quickly realized that my place was in the air: I was twelve when I created my first act, an aerial hoop duo, which won me a few contracts. Always at ease high up in the air, I was hooked! I continued training for several years, focusing on aerials. ? Since my departure from the Quebec Circus School in 2008, I have performed mainly in duo acts, as an aerial flyer and in hand-to-hand acts, but also in solo acts, as a versatile aerialist.

I have had the opportunity to work for numerous organizations and to appear in various events around the world, such as Princess Cruise Ships, Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Akya, Busch Gardens, Calgary Stampede, etc. It was with great pride, in 2009, that I was awarded the Prix de l’innovation (Innovation Award) and the Prix du Club du Cirque (Circus Club Award) at the Festival International de Cirque du Val D’Oise (France), with the Aerial Triangle Act. After five years of working in duo, I am off on a new adventure as a solo artist. The choice of the Aerial Hoop as my main act is a return to my first love, my first adrenalin rushes. This performance is about freedom, liberty and new beginnings.
